Help with our new Find a Solicitor search
How do I search for all the solicitors in a particular firm?
Choose "Find a Solicitor" rather than "Find a Firm"
Enter the name of the firm in the box marked "Company Name (Contains)"
Leave all other boxes clear and it will produce all solicitors at that firm.
Can I search for any organisation employing solicitors?
You can find all the solicitors working at an organisation which is not a firm of solicitors. Choose "Find a Solicitor". Enter the name of the organisation in the box marked "Company Name (Contains)". Leave all other boxes clear and that will produce all solicitors at that organisation.
Can I search for solicitors by area of work?
We are currently updating our data in relation to the areas of work carried out by firms and solicitors. An enhanced facility to search in this way will be available early in 2010.
Can I change the order of the search results list?
You can change the order of search results by clicking on the grey header at the top of the list. This would allow you to sort results by "company" for example.
Is there a "wildcard" option?
% can be used as a wildcard.
If you are unsure of the spelling of a name or only know part of it, you can use % to return all similar results. For example, if you don't know whether the name begins Mc or Mac you can enter M%c.
Errors and omissions?
