Kirklands Anti-Money Laundering Package
Attended the courses? Seen the Movie? Still not sure what to DO?
The problem with the risk based approach of the Money Laundering Regulations is that they set out general principals of what your procedures must achieve, without giving you a step-by-step blueprint detailing what these procedures should be.
Our Anti-Money Laundering Package provides that blueprint. You are invited to copy chunks of the manuals and styles into your existing AML systems.
The Package – as reviewed by the Law Society
We are delighted to announce that The Law Society of Scotland has reviewed our AML Package and is promoting it to the profession through its website. As you can imagine we are thrilled with this endorsement.
The Package was originally developed for our Instant Office users and on the basis that it was to serve 50 or so legal firms the Law Society of Scotland agreed to review it. As the Package developed it became apparent that, with minimal tailoring, it would serve as an Office Manual and training aid for most firms.
What is included in the AML Package?
(a) Two A4 loose leaf office Manuals (Users Manual and MLRO Reference Manual); and
(b) Styles of: Risk Assessment Form, Terms of Engagement, Letters and Cashroom Entries
Both the manuals and styles are supplied in paper and electronic form so you can tailor the contents to suit your firm’s Risk Profile. (for a complete list see the Index of Contents on AML-Law.co.uk)
What documents are included on the CD?
They form 3 sections:
(1) The User Manual “What do I have to do to stay Compliant?” covers 34 topics
A step by step guide for staff on what needs to be done and when. It includes such gems as:
“The Risk Assessment Form, new client matters and Customer Due Diligence”,
“What can I accept as Name and Address ID?”,
“What should set the alarm bells ringing?”,
“What if I turned a blind eye to something suspicious?” and
“The police are in reception. What should I do?”
(2) MLRO’s Reference Manual “Welcome to the Hot Seat” covers 18 Topics
Gives the MLRO the reasoning behind why the Office Manual and styles are framed in the way they are. We suggest areas that might need tailoring and provide either the relevant reference material or links to it.
(3) 11 essential AML Styles
Risk Assessment Form, Terms of Engagement and others Styles that you will need to have in place if you are to be compliant with the Regulations. These are supplied in Word format and you are invited to edit them to suit or to copy chunks into your existing styles.
