Role of the Chief Executive
The Chief Executive is responsible to the profession for the delivery of good management of the Society and the development, communication and implementation of the Society's strategy. The Chief Executive works closely with the President, other office bearers, Council and the Society's executive.
The Chief Executive has responsibility for the development and implementation of the overall strategy of the Society with regard to the interests and challenges faced by the profession.
The Chief Executive also has responsibility for the statutory and general business management of the Society incorporating:
- Overall management of the Society's employees and affairs.
- Direct involvement in internal management when issues are of such importance to the Society and profession to justify such direct involvement.
- In each of the key operational areas of the Society ensure competent managers to deal with issues subject to effective reporting lines being in place.
The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for the Society's communication strategy comprising:-
- Responsibility for communicating the Society's vision, strategy and policy within the profession and to the wider public and other stakeholders.
- Management of the communication of general issues.
