Civil Advice and Assistance

Reforms to civil advice and assistance are effective from Tuesday 1 May 2007.  The Scottish Legal Aid Board has been issuing updates to solicitors about the changes which will see:

  • Two new types of advice being introduced: standard and diagnostic. 
  • New application and increase forms coming into use.
  • New levels of initial authorised expenditure.
  • Removal of the minimum fee from all civil cases granted on or after 1st May 2007.
