Education and Training
The key functions of the Education and Training Department are to:
- make recommendations to the Education and Training Committee on the strategic direction of education and training for solicitors in Scotland
- drive and implement the policies of the Education and Training Committee and the Council
- keep itself informed of developments in education and training practice both within and outwith Scotland
- foster greater awareness amongst key stakeholders of the legal education strategy of the Society
- promote discussion of education and training in the Society and elsewhere
- maintain a register of all trainee solicitors
- ensure compliance with the Admission Regulations
- ensure that the Society is compliant with diversity legislation and to promote best practice in this area.
