Professional Practice
The core function of the Professional Practice Department is to provide members of the Society with professional practice advice and guidance in relation to the Solicitors Practice Rules. The Department receives approximately 1,500 telephone calls each month, as well as hundreds of written enquiries.
The department deals with conveyancing, accredited specialists, judicial procedure in the civil courts (being regularly consulted on proposals to reform the rules of both the Court of Session and the Sheriff Court) and solicitor advocates.
