Note to members
The Society collects and pays the SLCC levy in terms of section 27 of the Legal Profession and Legal Aid Act (Scotland) 2007
Members must let the Society know any changes in status or personal circumstances to ensure that Society invoices correctly
Members holding a practising certificate on 30 June 2012 will be liable irrespective of unemployment/retirement or other status. For the avoidance of doubt only formal surrender of a practising certificate including the return of that certificate prior to close of business at 5pm on 29 June 2012 would avoid liability for those currently holding certificates.
Formal invoices for payment will be sent out in May 2012.
Payment will be due 22 June 2012 to facilitate clearance of payments and onward payment by the Society to the SLCC on 30 June 2012.
