The future of legal education and training
Phase II, implementation
The Society is currently in the implementation phase of The Future of Legal Education and Training Project. The Society is committed to sharing progress with the and will be issuing regular project updates between now and September 2011.
In December 2009, new Accreditation Guidelines were published and set outcomes which must be achieved by students during their Foundation and PEAT 1 programmes. These documents are hugely innovative and will help ensure that Scottish legal education remains at the forefront of legal education globally. The Accreditation Guidelines can be downloaded at the right hand side of this page. In the autumn of 2009, the Society put out numerous calls to the profession to become involved in various Working Parties and Pilot Schemes including:
- CPD Working Party
- Trainee CPD Working Party
- PEAT 2 Working Party
- Fit and Proper Working Party
- PEAT 2 Pilot
These Working Parties are crucial to policy development and we are delighted that so many practitioners from across the country have become involved. Over the coming months, the Society will be releasing regular information updates to the profession about developments to keep you informed of progress and any action required.
