Requalifying in Scotland
Transfer tests are in place for solicitors from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and other parts of the European Union who wish to requalify as Scottish solicitors.
The Intra-UK Transfer Test is applicable to solicitors qualified in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, while the Aptitude Test for EU Qualified Lawyers applies to all other European Union qualified lawyers.
Lawyers from non-EU jurisdictions wishing to requalify in Scotland should e-mail the Society for guidance about requirements providing information on when they qualified and in which country/region they are admitted.

PLEASE NOTE that in the past the Intra UK Transfer Test has been held in March and November.
WITH EFFECT from 1 January 2009 the Law Society of Scotland's Intra UK Transfer Test will be held in MAY and NOVEMBER each year.

PLEASE NOTE that in the past the Aptitude Test for EU Qualified Lawyers has been held in March and November.
WITH EFFECT from 1 January 2009 the Law Society of Scotland's AptitudeTest for EU Qualified Lawyers will be held in MAY and NOVEMBER each year.
