This early evening Web-Ex session will consist of 3 30 minute careers sessions all geared towards New Lawyers.

The three topics are:

CV’s
Having a good CV is essential whether you are applying for full-time jobs, work experience opportunities, voluntary work or even promotion opportunities. Join us for a short presentation which will cover the key points to take into account when preparing a CV that stands out and gets you through to that essential interview stage. After the presentation there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss how to make the most of your achievements and ensure your CV gets you noticed (in a good way!)


Interviewing Skills
This session will cover the basics of how to prepare for interviews, the different type of interviews which are currently in use and also some of the more tricky questions that you might be asked and ways to turn then to your advantage. After the presentation there will be time to share interview experiences, hints and tips.


Effective Networking
Networking is a vital part of career management. Meeting and talking to people is the best way of finding out the information you need to make decisions about your development and potential career moves. It is also the best way to market yourself. We will look at ways of maximising your network, opportunities that social networking offers to increase your network and how to build effective professional relationships.
